Pastor Victor M. Wynn, J.D., M.T.S. 
Assistant the Pastor and Minister of Worship, 
The Temple Church, Nashville, TN

A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Reverend Victor Marcellus Wynn joined The Temple Church Pastoral Staff after having earned the Bachelor of Arts degree in Marketing from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. While a matriculating student at Morehouse, he served as Minister of Music at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Pastor Wynn earned the Doctor of Jurisprudence and Master of Theological Studies degrees at Vanderbilt University in May 2002. Pastor Wynn has been serving in music ministry leadership for nearly 20 years and this year Pastor Wynn will celebrate 10 years serving as Minister of Worship at The Temple Church. Pastor Wynn continues to be a sought after choir and vocal clinician, workshop leader and has served as consultant to several churches throughout the country assisting in the areas of church administration and staff development. Pastor Wynn sits on several boards and committees throughout the Nashville community and is actively involved with several music and arts initiatives around the country. Under Pastors Wynn's leadership The Temple Praise Choir has undertaken two live recordings "Temple Live" and "Temple Live II: A Reunion." In the summer of 2006, Pastor Wynn served as the producer of the Opening Concert for the Centennial Session of the National Baptist Sunday School and Baptist Training Union Congress. Pastor Wynn is married to Alecia M. (Butler) Wynn, and they have two daughters, Sydney Elise and Lauren Marie.


Elder Cynthia Macon Gordon, M. Div.
Minister of Family Life 

Pastor Cynthia born in Nashville, Tennessee, was educated in the public school system. After graduating from high school she entered Fisk University with a major in Political Science. While in her senior year pastor Cynthia heard and accepted the call to pulpit ministry and thus began preparation for ministry by earning the Master of Divinity degree from Emory University's Candler School of Theology in Atlanta Georgia, with concentration in Church Administration, Systematic Theology, and Christian Ethics. Pastor Cynthia interned at the Saint Elizabeth's Mental Health Hospital, in Washington D. C. completing three in tensed years of Clinical Chaplaincy and Clinical Pastoral Education, working in mental health areas ranging from acute mental illness to criminally insane. Pastor Cynthia further prepared herself by entering and completing the program to become a certified therapeutic adoptive, foster care parent and consultant. Pastor Cynthia holds ordination in both the United Church of Christ Church and the Baptist Church. In 2002 she was ordained and consecrated an Elder in the Apostolic Church. 

Pastor Cynthia has been a ground breaker for several ministerial opportunities. She was the first female to be licensed to preach at the Fountain of Faith Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia. Pastor Cynthia was first female Assistant Pastor to serve at the Lincoln Temple Church in Washington, D.C. She and her husband were the first African American co-pastors with equal status in the pulpit to pastor the Heritage Fellowship Church in Reston Virginia. Pastor Cynthia is now the first female to serve as a staff pastor at the Temple Church, Nashville, Tennessee. She has served as a staff minister at the following churches: The University Park Baptist Church, Charlotte North Carolina, Bishop Claude R. Alexander Jr. Transformation Ministries, Baltimore Maryland, Bishop Monroe R. Sanders, The Bronx Christian Fellowship, Bronx New York, Dr. Suzan Johnson Cook, and the Greater Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Charlotte North Carolina, Bishop A. L. Jinwright. Pastor Cynthia currently serves in the position of staff pastor at the Temple Church, Nashville, Tennessee under the leadership of Sr. Pastor Darrell A. Drumwright. Pastor Cynthia is a planner, developer and implementer of church programs and community projects. Her experience as a minister is vast, her passion deep and her commitment unquestionable, she has been said to be a visionary for such a time as this. Pastor Cynthia has served on many boards and numerous committees.

Pastor Cynthia loves music and as a musician she has played and performed with the Fisk University Jazz ensemble and as a singer she ministered and sung with many gospel choirs as well as performed with the renowned Fisk Jubilee Singers of Fisk University. 

Pastor Cynthia is a mother to one son, the love of her life Deprice age 18.


Pastor Kenneth Phillips
Minister of Evangelism

Native of Nashville, Tennessee and son of Reverend Walter Phillips Sr. of Columbus, Georgia and Mary T. Walton of Nashville, TN. He received his education in the Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County School system. He attended American Baptist College and Emmanuel Bible College in Nashville, TN, completing his undergrad Studies and receiving his B. A. degree in Pastoral Ministry in 1990. Under the leadership of our beloved Bishop Michael L. Graves, Pastor Phillips served as pastor of the Faith United Church (formerly a mission church of the Temple Church). In 1989 -1994 he served as pastor of the Mount Vernon Baptist Church of Chapel Hill, Tennessee. Currently he serves as Pastor of Evangelism and Outreach at Temple Baptist Church. Pastor Kenneth Phillips has also served as a Youth Counselor, Choir Director, New Members Decision Counselor and Bible Study Facilitator. He has recorded with Dr. Bobby Jones and the Nashville Super Choir, Reverend Lawrence Thomison, and the Baptist Missionary & Educational Choir (B.M. &E. Mass Choir). Pastor Phillips is married to Vileta A. Phillips and they have three children, Kenneth Harvell, Kennan Dwayne and Angelique Danielle.


Pastor E. Christopher Jackson, D.Min.
Minister of Education 

Dr. E. Christopher Jackson is a native of Chattanooga, Tennessee. He is an ordained minister who received his Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Tenn.- Knoxville. He completed his Master of Divinity degree at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky and his Doctor of Ministry degree at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Jackson's ministry experience includes serving in campus ministry at the University of Tennessee and the University of Louisville. His full-time professional Campus Ministry positions include nine years at Lincoln University in Missouri and ten years at Tennessee State and Fisk universities in Nashville. In 1999 he and his wife co-founded Creative Ministry Concepts, which offers personal empowerment seminars. He founded Conquerors Ministries in 2000 and this ministry serves as an outreach to the Antioch, TN. community.

Dr. Jackson is an accomplished writer and the author of two books internationally published by Zondervan Publishing House: Straight Talk on Tough Topics, and The Black Christian Single's Guide to Dating and Sexuality. He wrote the international daily instructional guide for the Baptist World Youth Conference and has also written extensively for the Sunday School Publishing Board and for LifeWay. He has been referenced twice in Ebony Magazine and is a nationally known speaker and seminar leader for Universities, Singles Groups, and churches of various denominations.

He is married to Dr. Coreen D. Jackson who is a licensed minister and holds a Ph.D. from Howard University. Their sons are Joshua (6), Juleon (5), and Jemiah (3). Dr. Jackson's special interests include music, drama, interpretive movement, reading, nature, visual art, basketball and photography. His international travels include West Africa, Bahamas, Jamaica, and Spain. One of his life's primary objectives is to help other people to discover their life purpose. His personal mission statement is "To honor God, pursue purpose, and empower people through practical and creative ministries of teaching, writing, conferencing, and producing the arts." The Biblical reference that resonates with his heart is a quote from Jesus: "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you." Dr. Jackson currently serves as the Minister of Education at The Temple Church, providing leadership to the ACTS Counseling, Educational, and Family Life ministries.
